About Us

Winding topography, beautiful mature trees, large yards and sidewalks best describes Olde Providence/Battle Forest. Home owners enjoy a wonderful mix of privacy with a strong sense of neighborhood hospitality. Olde Providence has blossomed into a small community within a community.

Olde Providence Elementary, our neighborhood school, is within walking distance for most of the children here. It has the distinguished rating of a School of Excellence with strong parent participation and school leadership. The school children, as well as the neighbors, enjoy the new wooded trails and Outdoor Classroom between the school and neighborhood. There are several ball and soccer fields sponsored by Olde Providence Recreation Association right on the school grounds.

Olde Providence is located in the heart of desirable South Charlotte just three miles from SouthPark and is just nine miles from uptown Charlotte with easy access to the city's best amenities. Colony place, which is just to the south of the neighborhood, is one of Charlotte's newest and most upscale neighborhood shopping centers, providing all the conveniences plus restaurants and coffee shops in a comfortable, pedestrian-friendly village setting with an outdoor seating.

The recreational opportunities close at hand are simply remarkable. Just to the north of Olde Providence is the Olde Providence Racquet Club. This is Charlotte's premier tennis club that was established here over 40 years ago. Also within our neighborhood is the Windyrush Country Club which provides a club house, tennis courts and an Olympic-sized swimming pool plus kiddie pool, all in a relaxed family setting that is within walking distance for most residents.

Most of the homes in Olde Providence were built in a bygone era when the standards of construction included all brick exteriors, hardwood floors throughout, crown moldings, masonry fireplaces and chimneys and ceramic tile baths. You can be confident in the quality of construction of these homes that have already stood the test of time. Home styles range from ranches to two-stories to split levels. There are a wide variety of floor plans and square footages available. These homes adapt well to additions and renovations because of their classic, timeless qualities and large lots.
